the practise test 1

In the lecture, the professor talked about the factors affect crime rate. He indicated that the reading is less convincing when compared to what happened for real.

The first point that professor used to cast doubt the reading is poverty takes no effect to the crime. According to the professor, the number of crimes does not increase when the unemployment rate increases. The example the professor illustrated is the United State has high crime rate in good economy, however, has lower crime rate when the economy goes down.

Another point the professor used to cast doubt the reading is the race is irrelevant to the crime. He argued that the number of black crimes is more than white crimes due to their broken families, not for the race. In the black community, families are easy to break up.

Finally, the professor claimed that the crimes intensify not because of the population in that society. He showed that the circumstance the families decide the children will become crimes or not when they grow up. If they live in the unhappy family like their parents were divorce or they suffer domestic violence, they tend to be more violent and become crime.
