EA - Topic 8

From an old friend,
I owed you a big apology for posting the writing topic late in the day.
There should be no rational apology or excuse for a failure, I know. I just want to share you, since many of you are still students, that, Client commitment is somehow a bit less important than that to senior management, in the positive manner, I mean. In this case, my commitment to you is not less important than both of those but that's really my own fault.
However, I strongly believe that what we really want to pursue is what we will really do sooner or later. It's not the matter of time but how we actually do it. Thus, for what you've made up your mind to make it the best of yours, never give it up to make the best you can, no matter whether it is your Toefl or anything else.
I do hope the finalists of our class remain not only the can-do attitude but also can-be-the-best desire.
Regarding to studying materials or practice related to the business world, particularly to finance and financial advisory, pls do not hesistate to inquire me for assistance.

Vocabulary: We continues missing.

At the next class, we will change the way to measure our efforts to learn them.

We must learn 15 words starting at 51^st of 1500 and revise 15 words beginning at 36^th of 1500. It means that the check task includes 2 parts: (1) matching new words and (2) filling ones of the previous lesson.

T7 - Plants can provide food, shelters, clothings and medicine. What is one kind of plant that is important to you or your countries?

While someone asks me about an important plant in my country, my answer is rice. There are numerous reasons explaining for this symbolic plant. My writing will critically present the main reasons.

Firstly, rice make the most crucial part of the Vietnamese meals. Needless to say, rice provide the largest amount of calories among other components of daily meals. Without this critical input, we will not have enough energy to live and develop naturally and fully. Besides, due to the mass production in the paddies, rice price is quite competitive in comparison to other food costs. Vietnamese people’s income is still quite low and it is unpredictable if this good increase its price more than others. By providing human the necessary calories at low cost, price is really our biggest asset for future survival.

Secondly, rice exports used to be the biggest contribution to the country’s export value, and will still be a significant factor of our emerging economy. It is commonly known that Viet Nam is one of the biggest rice exporters worldwide. Most of the people in the country get their main income from the sale of rice. More notably, the climate change and urbanization have caused serious problems in expanding paddy fields for the non-stop-increasing population. This fact will leads to the higher demands for rice in the future. In returns, the export-based economy will benefit from this change.

In short, by providing food for human and contributing to the export industry, rice is of great importance to Viet Nam and its people. I strongly believe that the plant is still essential for the next generations.

W - Topic 7 - Bui Nhung

The essential role of plants in human being’s life is undeniable in terms of supplying food, shelters, clothing, etc. In Vietnam, my country, rice is a featured plant. Personally, it is of great importance to my country and me due to three reasons.

First and foremost, Vietnam economy has been strongly supported by rice. Specifically, rice helps guarantee food security of the nation. With the population of nearly 86 million people, safety in food security could help bring about the stable and sustainable development of the economy and society. Furthermore, the value of rice exports is worth more than 2 million US dollars annually. It is synonymous with having a big amount of foreign currency, reducing trade deficit...

Secondly, rice has a pivotal part of the life of rice growers in terms of food and income. In reality, rice is a major food in every meal in every family in Vietnam. So, growing this plant is a kind of food self-supply of rice farmer. On the other hand, by selling part of rice produced by growers, they can have a little money. This income can be used to exchange other goods or services such as seeds, fertilizers in rice production, equipments and furniture in daily life or education and health services...

Finally, in my case, rice has been a source of finance and memory. Living in the North of Vietnam, my family has had a large rice farm. So, the majority of our family’s income came from selling rice. My expense, tuition fees and so on were partially financed by this income. Moreover, there were lots of my interesting memory for my village’s rice field in my childhood like flying a kite, playing tag game and working hardly in harvesting period... Now, seeing this plant, especially rice fields, brings back the child in me which is a good kind of relaxing of mine.

All in all, rice supports the economy of Vietnam, Vietnamese rice growers so much. To me, rice brings me many nice memories about my childhood and the sources of my family’s income.

Dear mates,
We still stay here after over a month but the time. Though some members gave no sign of interest, or of little interest, I am sure the rest are consistently eager to the new challenges.
Since most of the aspired writters just submitted one essay instead of the two as required, I will post here only one topic every week from now on. You may see it less stressful. Anyway, I do think this change is just as good since we will concentrate more on the quality of the essays and our development of writing skills, rather than the quantity as our initial expectations.
