Being lost in Sahara seems to be incredible. However, what would I wish if I was in the case? Waiting for help means waiting for the death. Hence, in this piece of writing I’ll make some wishes to take myself out of the fatal trouble.
First and foremost, what put on my priority is food and drinkable water. Needless to say, I am not able to live more than one week without these supplies. The heat of the sunlight in the day time and the cold in the night will make me exhausted so I need some nutrition to save me first. Moreover, I need enough food and water so that I can make some travelling to find the path out. It is uncertain how long it may keep me in. With the food guarantee, I will be confident to conquer the new land, to find new food and water sources, and to find the alive zone.
In the second place, having something to decide the direction to go forwards hold no less importance. It cannot be denied that I will go to nowhere if I do not know where I am going to. It is good to be facilitated with a map, a compass, and ideally an electric Global Positioning System equipment. With these stuffs, I can easily calculate and estimate the length and time for the shortest and best route. More importantly, the map will guide me to avoid mountain. I believe that many people who lost in the desert was because they were trying to climb the mountains, so-called sand hills, just to have a comfortable view to locate their position and to find direction. These efforts took their energy and time and lessen their chance to go for the shorter routes. Therefore, if I could have those equipments, it is no doubt that I would know what best to do next.
Last but not least, finding a local is the essential part of my journey. It is clearly seen that a the local is the ultimate person who can help me out. This local will take me to his village and contact to the in-charge authority. The rest of the story is assured then. More notably, the person I met may not be able to speak my language, at least English. It is a real problem if the two different people cannot understand each other. Some body language might help. However, I think that understand my case while I was alone in the gigantic Sahara, and so to do me a favor.
In summary, having food and water supply, being facilitated with positioning equipments, seeing a local are vital factors that I wish to save my life. I really wish that other unfortunate tourists who are in my same case could meet the fortune and finally be saved.Huan Le - 472 words, 31 mins
